US Congressman. In 1905, he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Saginaw, Michigan. From 1909 to 1914, he was assistant prosecuting attorney of Saginaw County and prosecuting attorney, 1915 to 1917. During World War I, he served in France as an Army First Lieutenant. After the war he was city attorney of Saginaw 1919 to 1923. In 1923, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-eighth and to the four succeeding Congresses, serving until his death while on board the ship USS Henderson, en route to the United States from Hawaii.
