He was a WWII Army Veteran and loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen. He loved to travel and was a Christian, devoted father, grandfather and uncle. He also loved to walk the streets of New Albany.
Survivors include his daughters- Dailene Bobbitt (Roger) and Martha Thompson (Houston); grandchildren-Rebekah (Thompson) Whiteley (Joshua), Dena (Bobbitt) Bahe (Bradley); Step-grandchildren-Dale Hayes and Kenneth Persinger and great-grandchildren-Jonah, Kaylin, Abigail, Cooper and Ezekiel. Preceded in death are his wife-Opal Martin; parents-George and Daisy Martin; brothers- Everett, Mynard, Victor, George Jr., Earl and Carl Martin; sister- Georgia (Martin) Ruff and step-daughter, Sherry Persinger.
