Born Sept. 18, 1927 in Mill Hall, he was the son of the late Raymond and Lila Jarrett Mosser.
On Aug. 25, 1950 in Flemington he married the former Viola M. Jeirles who survives at home.
Johnny retired from SCI Rockview in August 1979 after 19 and a half years as a correction officer. He was a US Army veteran of World War II serving in the 201 ORD. Auto Maintenance Det.
A mechanic at heart, he enjoyed hunting and farming.
He is survived by a daughter, Diane (Bruce) Wooley, of Mill Hall; two sons, David (Spring) Mosser, of Millersburg, and Robert M. Mosser, of Mill Hall; a step-grandson, Nathaniel Wooley, of Ohio; one sister, Florence “Dolly” (Theodore) Reeder, of Mill Hall; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A funeral service honoring the life of Robert J. “Johnny” Mosser will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at 1 p.m. in the Dean K. Wetzler, Jr. Funeral Home, 320 Main St., Mill Hall with Pastor Troy Kerstetter officiating. Internment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mill Hall.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until time of services.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church or the Bible Missions through the Funeral Home.
