Ronnie Lee Abitz, Sr., 64, of Fond du Lac, passed away at home following a long battle with lung cancer on Thursday, May 8, 2014.
He was born on July 21, 1949, in Fond du Lac, a son of Lester Augustave and Marion Gertrude Richie Abitz, Sr.
Ronnie served with the United States Army in Vietnam.
He married Mary Taylor and together they had three children. On July 21, 1994, he married Christine J. Sabel.
He is survived by his wife, Christine; three children: Ronnie L. Abitz, Jr. (Karen Rost), Jessie O. Abitz, and Iris M. Abitz (significant other, Stephanie Sharpe); two stepchildren: Laura (Jason) Schneider, and Ted (Kim) Mueller; his cherished step-grandsons: Calvin and Roland; his first wife, Mary (Joe) Koch; a brother, Lester (Char) Abitz, Jr., and family; a sister, Donna (Jeff) Spanbauer, and family; an uncle, Norm(Lois) Abitz; a nephew, Paul Otto; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charles Fredrick Abitz; a sister, Judy (Don) Otto; and a brother, Arthur Daniel Abitz, Sr.
Per Ronnie's wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place.
