A hearing now is in progress in probate court involving the most complicated relationships that ever have come to the attention of a court within the memory of old-timers at the bar of justice.

The case is for the settlement of five claims against the estate of Jennie Littlefield, who died on November 19, 1937. Five relatives of hers are bringing suit against Elwood Turner, who is executor of her estate.

Jennie Littlefield was the third wife of Paris Littlefield, but before she became his wife she was his step-daughter.

She was his step-daughter by virtue of the fact that her mother, Caroline Littlefield, was the second wife of Littlefield. Both Littlefield and Caroline Littlefield had children by different mates before they were married to each other.

Caroline Littlefield obtained a divorce from Paris Littlefield. She died in 1918, after which her own daughter became the wife of her divorced husband. Paris Littlefield died March 2, 1925.

Three of the claims were up for action before Judge J. D. Dickerson this afternoon. The estate in question has been appraised at a value of $1,150 in personal property and $5,000 in realty, with a $600 mortgage against the latter.

Ethel M. Mostner, daughter of Paris Littlefield, is seeking $3,120 for personal services to Jennie Littlefield before her death; Edith Crocker, granddaughter of Paris, is seeking $1,300 for the same, and P. E. Littlefield, son of Paris, is seeking $814 on a property deal which is involved in the estate; two other claims still are to be presented to the court, one of them concerning a motor car.

C. W. McVickers is attorney for the claimants and Wilbur Jones is representing Mr. Turner.

Judge Dickerson continue the hearing until this afternoon.
