JOSEPH H. RICE PASSES AWAY
Joseph H. Rice, 85 years of age, died Sunday morning at his home, seven miles west of the city near GArrison Chapel. Death was due to complications of old age.
Mr. rice was a farmer and had spent practically his entire life in the west part of this county. He is survived by the widow Mrs. Anna Rice. He was known to his friends as "Doc Rice".
His father Robert Rice, died about 65 years ago. He was one of a family of nine children and his five brothers and three sisters all preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from Garrison Chapel, with interment in the adjoining cemetery. The Rev. Quincy Ferguson will be in charge of the services.
