Bruce E. “Brud” Hollingsworth, Sr., 52, of 350 Virginia Street, Keyser, WV died Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.

Born on January 9, 1951 in Keyser, he was a son of Rosa E. (Bruce) Hollingsworth of Keyser and the late Robert F. Hollingsworth, Sr.

Mr. Hollingsworth was employed as a carpenter with the American Woodmark Corporation in Moorefield, WV. He was a 1970 graduate of Keyser High School and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam Era. He attended the Janes United Methodist Church, Keyser, and was a member of the Washington-Smith Post #152, American Legion, Keyser, the former Aubrey & Robert Stewart Post #5957, VFW, Piedmont, WV, and the Route 50 Hunting Club.

Mr. Hollingsworth was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and sports. He was a devoted Washington Redskins fan. Brud enjoyed tinkering with all sorts of things. He had a “big heart” and will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Marsha S. (Perry) Hollingsworth, two sons, Bruce E. “J.R.” Hollingsworth, Jr. and wife Courtney of Morgantown, WV and Brandon L. Echols, at home; two daughters, Paula Galloway of Fort Washington, MD, and Trina M. Broadway and husband Asia of Cumberland, MD; five brothers, Robert F. Hollingsworth, Jr. and wife Phil, and Todd J. Hollingsworth, all of Keyser, James V. Hollingsworth of Adelphi, MD, Thearone L. Hollingsworth and wife Wandafa of Fort Washington, MD and Cecil L. Hollingsworth and wife Iris of Piedmont, WV; and one sister, Marion A. Hollingsworth of Keyser. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Faith, Asia, Jalen, and Kodi Joy; special nephews, Ian and Seth; and a special niece, Jordyn, as well as a large number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends were received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Friday, May 16 from 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 17 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral services were conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Sunday, May 18 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Harry A. Coleman and Rev. Fredric W. Villinger officiating.

Interment was in the Potomac Memorial Gardens, Keyser.
