Geraldine “Dolly” Thomley, age 85, of 2237 Knuell Street, Manitowoc, died Monday, February 2, 2015 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center in Manitowoc.

Geraldine was born October 15, 1929 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Pauline (Mrozinski) Gadzinski. She was a graduate of the Mishicot High School with the class of 1947. Gerry married Harold E. Thomley on June 29, 1948. They shared 58 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 30, 2007. Gerry was a life long area resident. She had been employed at the Johnson Hills Men’s Department and 17 years at J.C. Penney Co. Gerry was an avid volunteer, starting with Cub Scouts, Brownies, Girl Scouts, the PTA at Jefferson Grade School and Band & Orchestra Mothers, serving as President for two years. She continued as a volunteer at the Adult Day Care for 11 years, and received the Volunteer Prism Award from Holy Family Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed working with people and helping wherever she was needed.

Survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws: David (Kris) Thomley, Montello, WI; Richard (Mary) Thomley, Leominster, Mass; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many special friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Harold; one daughter: Carol Thomley; four brothers and one sister.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory, 1122 South 8th Street, Manitowoc. Deacon Alan Boeldt will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Silver Lake College Music Department, toward the Carol Thomley Music Scholarship Fund.
