Mrs. Gertrude Pearl Van Scoyk, 74, of Clark St., Lake of the Woods, Bremen, a former South Bend resident, died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday in her home. She had been ill for two years. She was born in Peru on March 17, 1895. On April 12, 1915, in Peru, she was married to John D. Van Scoyk, who survives, along with four sons, Harry Sr. and Wayne, both of South Bend, Robert and John E., both of Edwardsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Glassburn of South Bend, and Mrs. Thelma Kronewitter of Mishawaka; 23 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clint Stettler of Wabash, Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Mina Mae Adams of Detroit. Friends may call in the Forest G. Hay & Son Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and again at those times on Sunday. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home with Rev. Dale Mead, pastor of Grace Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
