Stephen was born April 5, 1956 in Ft. Dix, NJ, a son of the late Charles Edward and Joanne Lee (Nowery) Ash. He worked as a self-employed IT computer specialist and was also employed by Wincore of Parkersburg, WV. He greatly enjoyed woodcrafting and he excelled in Hapikido where he was a 5th degree black belt. Stephen was a proud veteran of the US AirForce where he was an Aircraft Armament System Specialist Sgt. E4. He was also a member of the Vienna Masonic Lodge #172.
He is survived by his loving wife, Serena Kay (Bunner) Ash; son, Michael Alexander Ash (Dianne Anderson); son, Joseph Edward Ash; step daughter, Christina Marie Furr; stepson, Charles Franklin Wass (Regina); grandchildren, Kaitlyn Renee Wass, Kesslee Rayne Wass, Paige Wanstreet, Chris Wanstreet; siblings, Scott Mitchel and Evelyn Ann (Bennett) Ash; Susan Michelle (Ross) Ash and Michael, and Stuart Mathew Ash and Susan Amy (Huffaker) Ash, along with many loving nieces and nephews, and his two dogs, Loki and Thor.
Funeral services will be 11am, Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with Rev. Tim Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the WV National Cemetery in Grafton, WV at 2:00pm with full military honors conducted. Visitation will be from 4pm-8pm on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
