Thelma J. Amos, 82, Tipton, died at 5:15 p.m. October 18, 2001, in Autumnwood Extended Care, Tipton.
Mrs. Amos attended school in Pickard before graduating from Forest High School. She was an OB nurse aide at Tipton County Memorial Hospital for 20 years.
She was a member of Kempton Christian Church and Ladies Aid, Missionary Committee and a Deaconess at the church. She was a member of Tipton County Home Economics Club for more that 55 years, a member of the Past President's Club and also belonged to the ABC Club for more than 55 years.
She was born April 1, 1919, in Clinton County, to G.A. and Audrey McAfee Stanley. She married Vernon J. Amos on February 24, 1939, and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are three sons, Gary G. (Karen) of Tipton, Neil A. (T.C.) of Indianapolis and Mark R. (Karen) of Kempton; two brothers, P. Merton Stanley of Kokomo and Don R. Stanley of Frankfort; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kempton Christian Church with the Rev. Henry Pratt and the Rev. Ed Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Kempton Cemetery.
