68; former Chief of Police with Clarksville Police Dept.
Graveside services for Robert H. Adams Sr., 68, of Sellersburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2005, at his home.
He was a native of Gary and a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired Lt. Colonel and former Chief of Police with the Clarksville Police Department. He was a member of the Clarksville Fraternal Order of Police Lodge and the Gospel Tabernacle, Jeffersonville and was a Sellersburg Police Commissioner.
Survivors include his wife, Helen L. Adams; a son, Robert H. Adams Jr., Sellersburg; two grandchildren, Mathew R. Adams, Jeffersonville and Katie Jo Adams, Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers, Donald E. Adams, Charlestown and William L. Adams, Clarksville; and a sister, Jean Janes, Bourbon.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
