Carol Ann Diedrich (nee Vogel), age 66, of Manitowoc died peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2014 surrounded by loved ones at her home.

Carol was born December 19, 1947 in Menominee, Michigan. On February 27, 1965 she married Hugo C. Diedrich, Jr. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Slinger, WI. Carol enjoyed spending time with her friends including those she maintained contact with over the years. These friends include those from when Carol resided in various cities throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Carol moved with her husband to new communities as he operated meat departments in newly built grocery stores. After Hugo's death in 2002, Carol moved to Manitowoc where she was able to spend time with 2 of her 3 grandchildren. Carol worked with the elderly and volunteered her time at St Mary's Felician Village prior to her retirement.

Carol enjoyed spending time reading, gardening, decorating for the holidays and anytime spent outdoors with loved ones and nature. The one thing she prided herself in was her grandchildren. They were her world.

She is survived by her children Kim Holstein (Christine Procida) of Collingswood, NJ, Kris (Jim) Skyberg of Manitowoc, WI and David Diedrich of Manitowoc, WI. She is further survived by her three beacons Daniel, Jordan and Drew. Also survived by siblings Joan (Leroy) Schmidt of Wisconsin, Nola Slavik (John Ruth) of California, Terry Vogel of Montana, Mary Sager of California, Linda McCrossin of Wisconsin and Dennis "Sonny" (Olga) Vogel of Wisconsin and many supportive and loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Hugo, her infant son Timothy, her mother Lucille Vogel and her brother Michael Vogel.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 6, 2014 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 15 S. Cty Hwy J, Cato. Rev Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the memorial mass. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m. The Jens Family Funeral Home & Crematory of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
