She was born October 18, 1905 in Meade County, Kentucky the daughter of Edward Bruce Atwill and Minnie Cecelia Atwill Atwill.
She was the widow of the late Rev Jesse H Clay who had been a Pastor in Baptist Churches in Kentucky, Virginia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
She is survived by a son, William Taylor Clay; two grandsons and four great-grandchildren.
