William H. Ewald died yesterday at the home of his daughter, 35 Hawthorne street. He was the husband of the late Caroline Bertrand, and is survived by two daughters, Louise E. Hoard and Florence B. Herbert, and one son, W. H. Ewald, Jr. Funeral services will be held at the residence of his daughter to-morrow evening at 8 o'clock. Interment private.

WILLIAM H. EWALD, 71 years old, of 35 Hawthorn street, a retired merchant, formerly in business in Jersey City, died yesterday. He was born in Manhattan and was a member of the Ancient Order of United Workmen and of the Westminster United Presbyterian Church. His funeral service will be conducted tomorrow at 8 P. M. The interment will be at New York Bay Cemetery, Greenville, N. J. Mr. Ewald leaves a son, William H., and two daughters, Mrs. Louise E. Hoard, of Albuquerque, N. M., and Mrs. Florence B. Herbert, of Brooklyn.
