Dora Christopher married John William Rogers on 3 February 1895 in Red River County, Texas. In their 1910 U. S. Census (for Houston, Harris County), the Rogers had five children, Lydia ( age 11), Mamie (age 9), Willie (age 8), Jay (age 3), and Ducket (age 1).
Dora’s husband, J. W. Rogers, died of appendicitis on 25 November 1911 in Houston. Dora remarried to Charles E. Hooper on 1 September 1915 in Harris County. Charles was a widower with five children of his own. Ancestry.com user dkterry 11 posted that Dora met Charles when she was visiting her husband’s grave in Evergreen Cemetery. Charles and Dora’s marriage was short lived as Dora died of tuberculosis in their Houston residence on 5 October 1916.
