Scio-Floyd Amundson, 73, died Wednesday at. home. Mr. Amundson was born in Meadowlands, Minn., to Martin and Anna (Linder) Amundsen. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and moved to Oregon after his discharge. He moved to Sweet Home in 1957 and then to Scio in 1958. He married Irene C. Navarro in Reno, Nev. Mr. Amundson was a member of the Albany American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 584 in Albany and Albany Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and crabbing. He is survived by his wife; daughters Cheryl Hoflich of Albany, Cindy Myhrvold of Scio and Sandra Elliott of Bremerton, Wash.; brothers Eugene and Richard, both of Sweet Home, James of Pendleton and Elton Schaaf of Baker; sisters Betty Hughley and Luella Sills, both of Sweet Home, and Anita Clifton of Corvallis; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Brother Arnie and sister Lucinda Totten died earlier.
Visitation wil be from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fisher Funeral Home, 306 Washington St. S. W. in Albany. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Franklin Butte Cemetery in Scio. Memorial contributions may be made to Evergreen Hospice in care of Fisher Funeral Home.
