ANGELO L. MARTINOZZI
AGE 89 YEARS
UNITED STATES NAVY VETERAN

Angelo L. “Louie” Martinozzi, of Newberry, passed away surrounded by family Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at home. Surviving is his loving wife of 68 years, Jean B. (Peck) Martinozzi, who he wed on Aug. 19, 1950. He was a son of the late Rocco and Mary (Stanzione) Martinozzi.

Louie proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He attended Williamsport Technical Institute where he earned a degree in electronics. Louie started working for the railroad in Newberry and later retired as a general foreman from AVCO in 1991. Throughout his working career he maintained his own business, Martinozzi TVs where he repaired and maintained televisions all around town. Louie was a member of St. Joseph the Worker and the former Ascension Church. He was also a member of the Sons of Italy, LeRoy O. Buck VFW Post No. 7863 and the Republican League.

He enjoyed gardening, boating, skiing and taking trips to the casino to roll the dice and play slots. He will be remembered for his Friday night tradition of pizza and salad making, his abilities to fix anything, shopping trips to Harbor Freight, lawn mower rides around Newberry and being a friend to all. Above all else he was a hardworking and proud family man, who took great delight in being “Non” to his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his two daughters, Lynne M. Povish (Gary), of Williamsport/Indianapolis, Ind., and Karen A. Caschera (Michael A., Jr.), of South Williamsport; five grandchildren, a step-granddaughter, five great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren, a brother, Fiore Martinozzi (Leona), of Williamsport; and two sisters, Rose Heilman, and Josephine Bush (Jim), of Williamsport.
