Mrs. Barnett was born in Edge in Robertson County, where she attended school, and moved to Whon in Coleman County as a teen-ager. She worked in the grocery business
for many years in Coleman and later was employed by West Ward School and Overall-Morris Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Whon Baptist Church until it closed and was
the widow of Alonzo F. Barnett, whom she married in 1924 in Brady.
Survivors include three daughters, Idella B. Wristen and Billie R. Guthrie, both of Santa Anna, and Avis J. Vaughan of Lake Brownwood; one sister, Ruel Maddox of Post; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
