SEPTEMBER 15, 1946 ~ JUNE 19, 2019 (AGE 72)

Betty Ann Boy, 72, Gray, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2019 at her home.

Betty was a lifelong residence of Washington County. She was born in Johnson City but raised in Boones Creek to the late George L. “Fay” and Blanche Roland Boy.

Betty was a 1964 graduate of Boones Creek High School. She then went on to get her Associate’s Degree in Secretarial in Accounting at Steed College, and in 1984, Betty went to the Johnson City Vocational School where she received a certificate for Administrative Medical Assistant. She worked at Eastman for seven years, then Weems Florist and Betty’s Floral. Betty was a member of Boones Creek Baptist Church.

She enjoyed sewing, especially quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, James William “Jay” Boy and a sister, Daris Boy Martin.

Left to cherish Betty’s memory are a brother, George Edward Boy and wife Laura, Johnson City; a sister, Joyce Boy Hamilton, Bristol; an aunt, Ellen Romano, Connecticut; 3 nieces, Lisa Phipps and Darlene Lane, both of Virginia, Lori Dykes of Boones Creek; 3 nephews, Robby Boy, Chris Boy and Jon Boy, all of Boones Creek.

The funeral service for Betty will be conducted Monday, June 24, 2019, at 4:00 pm, from the East Chapel of Appalachian Funeral Home, with Dr. Paul Lane, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. There will be a private graveside service prior to the service in Monte Vista Memorial Park.
