DAVID'S OBITUARY
NICOLLET

David E. Gleisner, age 90 of Nicollet died peacefully on Thursday, June 21, 2019 at the Mayo Health Systems in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 29, 2019 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nicollet with Father Denny Labat celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Cemetery in Brighton Township, Nicollet County. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Nicollet. David is survived by his children, Alen Gleisner, Felicia Petersen, and Vickey Gleisner; grandchildren, Matthew Gleisner, Cindy Sietsema, Benjamin Petersen, Christopher Petersen, Grace Gleisner, Jared Gleisner; great-grandchildren, Mason Sietsema, Owen Sietsema, Liv Petersen, Lars Petersen and his sister, Annabelle Schaefer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn (Zins) Gleisner; twin children, Adam and Angela Gleisner; and a brother, John Gleisner.

David Edward Gleisner was born May 3rd, 1929 in New Ulm to Edward and Lucy (Kienlen) Gleisner. On September 30, 1952, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Clara Zins. David Gleisner started his military training in 1954 in Texas. His wife, Marilyn and son, Alen, joined David after he had been transferred to a base in Chicago.

Alen Gleisner (oldest son) was born while David was in the service. They lived as a family in Chicago for two years. Once out of the military the couple moved back to Nicollet to raise their family on the farm. In life, David loved everything about farming. He also enjoyed fishing, wood working, antiques, gardening, and watching the MN Twins.

The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the outstanding staff at Ecumen Pathstone Crossing and the nurses at Immanuel St. Joseph hospital. www.mvfh.org
