Wife of Robinsons Department Store heir, Harry Winchester Robinson. Her Beverly Hills, California home was built in 1911 - one of the first homes built in the city. She occupied it for sixty six years, until her death in 1977. In her will, she bequeathed the home and it's six acres of exquisite gardens to Los Angeles County. Today, Virginia Robinson Gardens is administered by the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation as one of Los Angeles' most beautiful botanic gardens.
