Stephen was born in Colorado Springs, CO to Roy Allen and Christel Daunderer Rupp on June 15 1965. He was their only child. The family moved to Germany when Stephen was an infant, as his father was in the Army. After 7 years there they came to California, settling in King City. Stephen was a 1983 graduate of King City High School. In November of 1988 Stephen started work at Corcoran State Prison as a Correctional Officer, a career that spanned 29 years until he retired in 2017. In March of 1990 he married Kimberly Nelson, they divorced in 1992. In 2002 he entered a long term relationship with Chantel Andresen, who survives him at the family home.
Stephen loved classic cars and spent a lot of time tinkering with the two he owned. He was also interested in firearms and enjoyed going to the range, playing video games and enjoyed all things electronic. He always had the latest gadgets.
Steve's passing came as a great shock to everyone. He had just gone through cancer treatment and surgery and come out of it very well. He went back into the hospital 6 days after being released due to passing out. The day he died he was supposed to come home and was waiting on discharge when he passed out again. Though the staff tried very hard, they were not able to save him.
