Mr. Sisk was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Army. He received the Good Conduct Medal and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon. Mr. Sisk was a retired supply motor operator for Consol at the Buckeye Mine at Herndon/Stephenson with 30 years of service. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. Mr. Sisk was an avid outdoors persons, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Lucille Thornton Sisk; along with a son, Willard Dale Sisk; and seven siblings, Velda Wiley, Cebert Sisk, Gathen Sisk, Jimmie Sisk, Ella Mae Parks, Elmer Jerry Sisk, and Geneva Mavis Farmer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his five children, Mary Jean Johnson, Claude Everett Sisk Jr., Sandra Frances Vest, Richard Allen Sisk Sr., Rebecca Ann Sisk Ward; two living siblings, Dortha Kathalene Gordon, Maynard Sisk; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
On Monday, September 13, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., we will celebrate the life of Mr. Sisk from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with Gary Durham, chaplain for Amedisys Hospice, officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum, Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton with a military service. A time of gathering and sharing will be held today, Sunday, from 4 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
