Leo was the only child of Leo & Adele (Blow) Pidgeon (later Mrs. Kenneth Goss). He was a 1953 graduate of Milton High School in Milton, Vermont. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was later in the Vermont Air National Guard as a fireman. He loved sports, rooting for the Red Sox, camping and ice fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce, two sons, a daughter, six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one Goss half-brother, two Pidgeon half-brothers and two Pidgeon half-sisters. He was predeased by his parents, half-sister Connie Goss, his son Darryl, other family and his friends Theodore and Doris Jarvis, his neighbors in his youth in South Hero.

He was the much older half-brother of my husband. I never had the pleasure of meeting him, which is my loss. I know that my husband spoke to him on the phone on occasion and has a few letters and Christmas cards from Leo. Leo also gave him the only photo my husband has of their father, who died when he only two. It now hangs on our wall.

A funeral was held at St. Rose of Lima Church in South Hero, Vermont.
