George Joseph Myler was born to Emma Elizabeth Godfrey and Joseph Elias Myler, in a frame house with a sloping roof. At age five, we moved to a ranch two and a half miles north of town, where the family lived for seven years. The family moved into town. It seemed good to go to school and participate in school programs.

George Joseph married first Rachel Beathear Buttars on November 22, 1905 in the Logan Temple, Logan, Utah. Through this union six children were born to them, five girls and one boy. His family moved into a single room frame house when they were first married, and this was their own home, which he and his father built. After one year they built onto the house to make more room. Later in life, in the year 1949, they built a red brick house.
In 1936 he went on a mission to the Nortwestern States. His four oldest daughters married, then he left his wife and two children.

He was Sunday School chorister for ten years and ward chorister for fifteen years. Also, at this time he was playing leading parts in the dramas with the old professional actor, Thomas Cutler, of Logan. Will Clark, John Myler, Jennie Clark, Frank Griffiths and himself formed the "Piano Club" which bought the first piano for the Clarkston Ward. We each paid $1.25 a week until it was paid for. Then he and his wife were called on a mission to the Northwestern States. While serving there, we baptized eight people.

Rachel died in 1958. On September 24, 1959, George Joseph married Cora May Page.
