John Emmet Robinson, 89, was born in Howard County, Texas December 11, 1929 and passed from this life June 24, 2019.

There will be family visitation Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle Funeral Home in Big Spring.

They will celebrate his life with a graveside service in the Garden City Cemetery on Friday, June 28th at 2:30 pm.

John was born to Willie Levi Robinson and Bertie Mae Deel and was the second of 16 children.

He joined the Army after graduating from Garden City High School and later fought in the Korean War.

After returning home, he started Robinson Water Well Service and was known to many as “The Windmill Man”.

John’s favorite times were being with his two grandchildren and fishing with his buddies.

He also served several terms as Glasscock County Judge, in Garden City.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Viola Hillger, Mary Hillger, Jim Robinson, Bill Robinson, Kenneth Robinson, Richard Robinson.

He is survived by his daughter Millie Christie Hirt and husband, Steven. His loving grandchildren that he adored, Christie Hirt Hinton and her husband, Tony Hinton, Cody Hirt and his wife, Jordana Hardgrave Hirt and his great grandchildren Hayden Hinton, Kason Buffaloe, Tanner Hinton, Hannah Hirt and Reid Hirt. Also sisters, Bertie Wooten, Betty Davis (Wayne), Deanie Craft, Debbie Robinson, Becky Curnett (Fred), and brothers, Loren Robinson (Fay), Gary Robinson (Tomika), Melvin Robinson, and Jerry Robinson and many nieces and nephews.

The family of John Robinson would like to express their thanks to the staff of Parkview Nursing and Retirement Center, Big Spring.
