Ada Mai (Dudley) (Sprott) Coleman was born on August 21, 1878 in Williamson County, Tennessee, the daughter of John Lawrence Dudley (1837–1893) and Susan Elizabeth (Blair) Dudley (1838–1908). {It is noted that Ada's Death Certificate informant incorrectly listed Ada's father as Guilford Dudley.}

She was married 1st on August 12, 1897 in Williamson County to Samuel Henry Sprott (1870–1915) and moved to Alvaredo, Texas with him. A widow in 1916, Ada jad moved back to Spring Hill, Tennessee and was married 2nd to Samuel E. Coleman (1888–1947).

Living at 1948 Porter Road in Nashville, she worked at the Werthan Bag & Burlap Company in Nashville for a number of years. She was 74 years old and a widow when she died at her daughter Catheryn's home on November 23, 1952 of a cerebrovascular accident. Burial was the next day in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
