Mrs. Z. T. Moore died at her home southeast of Salisbury January 13 at 9 o'clock after an illness of typhoid pneumonia. Sarah Catherine Hooten was born in Chariton county, October 2 1856, thus being at her death 55 years, 3 months and 13 days of age. She was a daughter of Elizabeth and John Hooten.
At the early age of 14 she united with the Baptist church and has always been a constant and faithful member.
On November 14 1875 she was married to Zachariah Moore and to this union were born 7 children, one, the eldest daughter, died in girlhood, the others with the husband survive her.
Those living are Amelia, Mrs. Chas. Fuller, Tom, Willie, John, Walter, and Jeff.
She also leaves one brother, Billie Hooten and three sisters, Mrs. Buck Dennis and Mrs. Susan Scott of this vicinity and Mrs. Nancy J. Drinkard of Oregan, and the Press extend its dearest sympathy to the mourning and loved relatives. (hard to read)
The funeral services were held at the home Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Turnage, pastor of the ? Baptist church and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery in Roanoke.
