"James Haskell Howard, 86, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Pontotoc Hospital from an extended illness.

Mr. Howard was born on Dec. 16, 1929 in Ringling, Oklahoma to Haskell and Fannie (Crowson) Howard. He grew up in Oklahoma and Texas, graduated from high school in Mirando City, Texas and, after a stint in the U.S. Navy during peace time, returned to his native Oklahoma to attend and graduate with a BS Degree from the University of Oklahoma in Norman. He had a 40 plus year career selling oilfield drilling equipment and accessories. He moved to Mississippi about 8 years ago to be near his son.

A graveside service celebrating his life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at the Howard Family Cemetery, Condon Grove Cemetery near Milburn, Oklahoma. Visitation will be from 10:30 to service time on Saturday at the cemetery. Burial will follow the ceremony.

Survivors include his daughter and her husband; his son and his wife; three grandchildren; a sister; and a sister-in-law. "
