On June 22, 1973 he married Judy K. Glass, who survives in Paulding.
He was Assistant Pastor at the Cecil Pentecostal Church, and attended Bryan Pentecostal Church and the Sherwood Pentecostal Church. He was the owner of the former Crossroads Café, Haviland and the former R & B Restaurant in Payne.
He is also survived by a sister, Wanda (Scott) Rittenhouse, Defiance; children: Kimberly (Charles) Cook, Oakwood, Kip (Billie) Dix, Cecil, Shirley (Becky) Dix, Van Wert, and Jennifer (Jason) Flynn, Paulding; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by siblings: Roger Dix, Lela, Oval, Evelyn, Louise, Joan, Margaret, Shirley and Katherine, and a granddaughter, Brandy Jo Flynn in 2003.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday, July 6 at the Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. He will be laid to rest in Hedges Cemetery, Paulding County.
