Mrs. Bunch was born on September 12th, 1921 in Tennessee to her late parents, James and Sadie Burgher. She was a 1938 graduate of Russellville High School and attended Bowling Green University for two years. Annetta was the co-owner and editor of Times-Courier here in Ellijay since 1967. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay, the 2003 Gilmer county co-citizen of the year, and was one of the charter members of the Garden Club of Ellijay. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Nixon Bunch, Jr.
She is survived by her children and in-laws; George and Sheri Bunch, III of Ellijay, GA, Lou Anne and Jack Nunn, Jr. of Ellijay,GA; grandchildren, Jessica and Douglas Johnston, George Nixon Bunch IV, Brittany Anne Padgett; great-grandchildren, Alexis Duncan, Douglas A. Duncan, Jr.; brother, James Hardy Burgher of Kentucky; Several extended family members also survive.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 6th, 2019 at 3:00pm from the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay with Dr. Thom Shores, Mark Millican, and Rev. Alan Tarr officiating. Graveside interment will be in the Ellijay City Cemetery with Nixon Bunch, Douglas Johnston, Keith Nunn, Joe McCutcheon, Lex Rainey, D’Wayne Fowler, Daniel Burgher, Mark Millican, and Jaxon West all serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the service hour of 3:00pm at the church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ellijay building fund at 75 McCutchen Street, Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mrs. Bunch.
