He was the son of Lee and Cindy Deel and Mike and Denise Downey. He was a 2012 graduate of Holston High School and attended Emory and Henry College. Aaron excelled in high school sports and was twice named the Holston High School Golf Player of the Year and a member of the 2012 State Runner-Up Cavalier baseball team.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Campbell. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Roxie Campbell and his paternal grandmother, Janice Deel; sister, Caitlyn Deel; step-sisters, Kristie Gobble and Mary Beth Cochran; step-brother, Matthew Downey; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2019, at Garrett Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 p.m., Sunday in the Riverview Chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with Mr. Bill Haywood, minister officiating.
