GREEN RIVER, Wyo. - Amy Marie Thompson, 88, of Green River, Wyo., formerly of Grand Island, died Monday, June 19, 2006, at Castle Rock Convalescent Center in Green River, after a lengthy illness. Cremation will take place at the Vase White Mountain Crematory and at her request there will be no memorial service.
Mrs. Thompson was born July 14, 1917, at Grand Island to Nels K. and Anna Nielsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Thompson and a daughter, Nancy Lewis. Survivors of the immediate family include a son and daughter-in-law, Terry D. and Beth Thompson of Green River and a sister, Dorothy Cummings of Lexington...(omitted here are other survivors).
Mrs. Thompson attended school and graduated from high school in Grand Island. She married Richard M. Thompson in Green River, Wyo., on Aug. 14, 1942... Mrs. Thompson worked at many different jobs throughout her life. During World War II she worked in an Ordnance Depot. She was a teacher and taught in Farnam and she also had worked as a waitress in Green River. She was a member of the Lutheran Church....
She was also preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Norma Vance; and a brother, Don Nielsen.
