Emma Riddle Dies Monday Following Extended Illness

Mrs. Emma Riddle, owner and operator of Riddle Tractor Sales in Spencer, died Monday afternoon at the Bloomington Convalescent Center after an extended illness.

She was the widow of Homer Riddle who died in September 1967, and she was active in the business from the time of his death until her illness.

She was born in Spencer July 8, 1919, a daughter of Fred and Rhea Sheaffer Clark. Her mother, now residing in Indianapolis, survives.

Also surviving are daughters Mrs. Lynn (Rosemary) Evans and Mrs. Mel (Marci) Kline, both of Spencer route 1; a son, Mick Riddle of Bloomfield route 1; sisters, Rosie Witham, Ina Conway and Jane Alexander of Indianapolis and Helen Durbin of Monrovia; brothers, Charles Clark of Sandborn, Donald Clark of Spencer, and Tom, Everett and Robert of Spencer route 4, and two grandsons. One* brother preceded her in death.

Mrs. Riddle was a member of Spencer Baptist Church, Order of Eastern Star and Calico Girls Homemakers Club. OES services were held at West and Parrish Funeral home Wednesday evening. Services will be held today, Thursday, at 1:00. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

*Actually 3 brothers had preceded her in death: Delbert (1926), Paul (1937) and Ronald (1963).
