Charlotte Elisa “Lottie” Bryce was the daughter of Archibald Bryce, Jr. and Mary Bailey Pemberton Bryce of Virginia. She married Judge Benjamin Lyman in Harris County, Texas, on June 8, 1854. They had four living children. Lottie's burial here in Oak Hill is based on the statement in her husband's obituary that he was buried "beside his wife". This family plot contains not only Lottie's husband, but also her brother William M. Brice/Bryce, a Lampasas County judge, and their sister, Bessie B. Brice/Bryce Foreman. Lottie's husband's memorial has further family information. Their daughter, Charlotte A. Lyman was the wife of Ahijah W. Grimes, was a Williamson Deputy Sheriff and former Texas Ranger who was killed in a gunfight with the Sam Bass gang.
