Valley Pioneer Dies After Short Illness This Morning

Mrs. Anna McDowell Weaver, 86-year-old Kittitas valley pioneer, died after a short illness here this morning.
Mrs. Weaver, who has been a resident of the valley since 1883, was born in Tippecanoe county, Indiana, November 14, 1852, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J. L. McDowell.
Her family moved to Kansas in 1866 and she was married in 1871 to John Nelson Weaver. They moved to Joplin, Missouri, in 1874, and came to Kittitas valley with their family in 1883. Mrs. Weaver had lived here since that time, most of the time on a farm in the Cove district.
She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church.
She is survived by three sons, L. M. Weaver, Sultana, Cal.. Dr. R. W. Weaver, Ellensburg, and V. V. Weaver, Wenatchee; one daughter, Mrs. Cora Baker, Ellensburg; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. L. A. Vincent and Miss Carrie McDowell, both of Ellensburg. Mr. Weaver died seven years ago.
Funeral arrangements have not been complete.
