-------------------

Geo. W. Headley was born in Howard County, Indiana, Oct. 22, 1853. With his parents he came to Putnam County, Missouri, when he was three years old, where he grew to manhood. He went to Illinois where he lived three or four years, going then to Cowly [sic] County, Kansas, where he resided until March, 1902, when he moved to St. Clair County about three miles northwest of Weaubleau, where he died Nov. 28, 1916, aged 63 years, 1 month and 6 days.

He was married to Mary Alice Hoober when he was about 25 years of age, and to this union were born four children--two of whom died in infancy. The living children are G. C. Headley, of Kansas, and Mrs. Lula M. Baxter of Collins, Missouri.

In November, 1910, he professed faith in Christ and was baptized by the Rev. A. G. Williams. He united with the Weaubleau Baptist church and remained a faithful and loyal member.

He was a kind husband, an indulgent father, and an excellent neighbor. He was conscientious and honest in all his dealings which made him loved and respected by all who knew him.

In departing, he leaves behind his companion, one son and a daughter, six grand-children, two brothers and two sisters.
