She graduated from Incarnate Word University in 1958 with a BS degree in Medical Technology. She married Ronald A. Jones on September 6, 1958, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage. She traveled all over the world with her husband, visiting over 63 countries and setting foot on every continent except Antarctica. One of her favorite trips was visiting all of the Christian sites in the Holy Land. Kay played the organ and keyboard at St. Michael Catholic Church in Lake Jackson for 45 years until her illness forced her to retire.
She was preceded in death by her mother; father; and infant daughter, Wendy.
Surviving family members are her husband, Ronald A. Jones; her daughters, Leslie Stein, Kellie Chaney (Jim), and Kaycie Moore (Randy,) all of Lake Jackson; sister, Joan Turner (Robert), of San Antonio; grandchildren, Sam Chaney (Melissa), of Lake Jackson, Stuart Stein, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Preston Stein (Peyton), of Bryan, Texas, and Nick Moore (Brett,) of Austin, Texas; and six great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Help, Inc. who assisted in caring for Kay the past 15 months, especially Nancy, Vickie and Autumn.
Visitation will be at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, at St. Michael Catholic Church, with a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m., followed by a Rosary. On Thursday, January 3, 2019, Monsignor Leo Wleczyk will officiate at a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Committal for family only will follow the funeral Mass.
The family requests that anyone wishing to honor Kay’s memory make a donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Michael Catholic Church.
