GRANT, SYLVESTER, JR., 77, of Reynoldsburg, OH, departed this life on Friday, July 23, 2004. He was born in Louisville on June 7, 1927. He was a 1945 graduate of St. Xavier High School, served in the US Navy and graduated from the University of Louisville. He was a chemist for Sohio/BP Chemicals in Lima, OH, for almost 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester Grant Sr. and Sallie Alvey Grant, as well as siblings, Louis Grant, Mary Elizabeth Cobble, Virginia Loretta Edelen and Gladys Hardesty. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Billie Caple Grant; son, Stephen (Kathy) Grant; daughters, Debbie (Nick) Geldis, Sandi Grant and Sheila (Brian) Blanch, all of Ohio; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Marcella Berger and Geneva Meehan, and a sister-in-law, Pauline Musselman of Louisville, as well as many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1051 Waggoner Rd., Reynoldsburg. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Sunday at Egan-Ryan Funeral Home East Chapel, 4019 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
