(1913 - 2002)

Anna Oanh T. Nguyen, age 89, of 1815 Markham St., Manitowoc, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family early Wednesday morning, Nov. 6, 2002 at the family residence.

Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be con-celebrated by the Rev. Ronald Reimer and the Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep with cremation to follow.

She was born March 5, 1913 in La Phu, Thuong Tin, Hadong Province in Vietnam, a second daughter to the late Thang V. and Luyen T. Nguyen. Oanh had worked many years as a tradeswoman, however her most comfortable role in life was being a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, domino's and games at home with her husband, grandchildren and friends.

She was married to Peter Loi D. Nguyen in May 1945. Together they came to the United States on Aug. 26, 1984. He preceded her in death July 25, 1985.

Oanh was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and Legion of Mary. Surviving Oanh is her only daughter: Hanh T. and son-in-law: Diem Nguyen of Manitowoc; her two grandsons: Nguyen N. of Chicago, Ill.; and Dat N. of Milwaukee. Also surviving are her two brothers, one sister and her in-laws to include: Mr. and Mrs. Luong Q., Vancouver, Canada; Chieu Q. and Bong T. of San Jose, Calif.; Boa T. and Thuy G. Pham of Garden Grove, Calif. Missing her dearly are also 31 of her surviving nephews, nieces and their families.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband: Peter Loi D. Nguyen; brother: Uy V.; sister: Tram T.; brother-in-law: Cau V.; her beloved niece: Nhan T.; and nephew: Vinh Nguyen.

Friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service to be held at 7 p.m. led by Deacon William Klein.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials would be appreciated to St. Paul's Catholic Church.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 628 N. Water St., is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family wold like to extend their special thanks to Dr. Thomas Rauschenberger, nurse Debbie Svacina, Arlene and to Holy Family Memorial Medical Center and Home Care staff members for their loving care given to Oanh during her illness.
