Al and my dad were very close during the 50s. My dad, as seen in the photos I
posted, was Al and Sally's best man at their 1956 wedding.
Al was a WWII vet who served in the pacific. His job was as a naval
photographer. He even did photography jobs on the side. Those wedding photos I
posted on his memorial were developed by Al. He remained in the military after
the war. He and Sally had only one son, Mark Allen. My dad was his godfather. Al
was killed aboard his ship in a tragic accident. His uniform was snagged by a
piece of machinery, it pulled him in, and strangled him to death. Sally died not
long after Al, but I don't know when exactly. Don't know anything about Mark
Allen. My family and the Conley's lost touch after Sally died in the early 60s.
