"On Monday, before noon, L.C. Blackwood was loading oats in the back end of his wagon on his farm, seven miles west of Graham. The team suddenly started and he was thrown to the ground, striking on his head from which he passed at 9:00 pm. He was buried at Medlan's Chapel cemetery Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Blackwood was an old citizen of Young County, having lived here for many years. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and was a good citizen in every respect."
