Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at United in Christ Ministries, 211 N. Oakland Avenue, Eden, North Carolina.
Burial will be at Chapel Hill Progressive Primitive Baptist Church.
Robert Abbott was born May 15th, 1938 to the late William and Pearlie Abbott in Rockingham County.
He was married to the late Marjorie Barnett on November 5, 1960 in Reidsville, NC and to this union was born one son, Jason A. Abbott and one daughter, Rosalyn Abbott Wooding.
He was an active member of Bluestone Missionary Baptist Church in Pelham, NC, where Rev. Dr. Roy L. Dennis, Jr. is the Pastor, until his health declined. He was also a faithful member of the Masonic Lodge #274 of Sandy Level in Axton, VA
Robert was a truck driver for over 30 years and retired from trucking with Fieldcrest-Cannon. After retirement from Fieldcrest, he drove trucks with Paper Box Company in Greensboro, NC.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers, Johnny Abbott and Louis Abbott.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one son - Jason A. Abbott; one daughter - Rosalyn A. Wooding (Anthony) both of Eden NC; one brother - C. Vincent Abbott of Ruffin, NC; two grandchildren - Wesley Slade and Renesha Abbott both of Eden, NC; two great grandchildren - Serenity Abbott and Qua’mari Abbott, of Eden, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
