She was the daughter of Moses Danwood and Louisa Clemens Elwood.
Her first marriage was to Leon Griffin in 1899 and later she married Edward Hughes. Mr. and Mrs. Hughes had lived in the Town of Floyd of 11 years. Mr. Griffin died in 1925.
Besides her husband, she leaves five children by her first marriage, Mrs. Blanche Rurak, Mrs. Alta Leach, both of Utica, Mrs. Dorothy Morell, Philadelphia, Emery of N. Ilion, Marshall of Utica; one daughter by her second marriage, Mrs. Jane Ammese, Utica; two sisters, Mrs. Edna Gates, Charleston, and Mrs. Robert Williams, Barneveld; 24 grandchildren; 26
great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Holland Patent Cemetery.

Leon and Emma had six children: Emery Danwood, born 3/28/1900; Blanche Louisa, born 6/15/1902; Marshall Monroe, born 3/28/1904; Dorothy Florence, born 10/2/1905; Alta Flora, born 2/17/1907 and Leo who died in 1910.
