Washington, Feb. 4 (UPI). Mrs. Mary E. Casey, 96, widow of the man supposedly immortalized in "Casey at the Bat," was buried today. She died Monday of pneumonia. In 1897 Daniel M. Casey, a Phillies pitcher, fanned with two on and two out in the ninth inning of a game with the New York Giants, giving the Giants a 4-2 victory. Sportswriter Ernest L. Thayer wrote the poem."
