Harlan Lloyd Boggs, 79, of Coxs Mills, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003 at his home.
He was born in Richwood, a son of the late Harley and Bertha Lloyd Boggs.
He was a retired construction superintendent for Bechtel Inc., San Francisco. He was a 14-year Navy veteran and was a worker for civil rights, and the rights of women and the downtrodden.
He is survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Garrison of Bedford, Mass.; one brother, Arlo Boggs of Bowling Green, Ohio; four sisters, Wanda Meeks of Reno, Nev., Virginia Schott of Houghton Lake, Mich., Orpha June Clevenger of Dayton, Ohio, and Gladys Ames of Kingsport, Tenn.; and one grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Helen Boggs; one brother, Wilson Boggs; and two sisters, Wilma Britton and Laurene Boggs.
Burial was in Cottrell Cemetery, Oka. There was no service.
John H. Taylor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
