26 Jun 2007: John S. Brenize, 90, went to be with the Lord because of his acceptance of Jesus Christ as his savior as found in John 3:16 on Sunday, June 24, 2007. He was born September 21, 1916 in Shippensburg, PA to the late Simon and Sarah (Handcock) Brenize. He was a salesman for Hershey Ice Cream for many years. He was a member of Calvary Independant Church and veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Brenize is survived by his wife of 71 years, Grace; daughter S. Jeanne Bowman and Jim of Harrisburg; grandsons Dale Eugene Hanmer of Harrisburg, and Darrell Lee Hanmer of Dillsburg; great-grandchildren Luke and Samuel Hanmer, and Rebecca Krasevic; sister Lou Culp of Wilmington, NC; and brother Wilson Brenize of Zephyrhills, FL. Service Wednesday, June 27, at Calvary Independant Church. Interment with military honors at Indiantown Gap National VA Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
