(1959 - 2011)

Steven L. Staudinger, 52, 3209 Monroe St., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011 at his residence of a massive heart attack.

Steven was born Nov. 18, 1959 in Two Rivers, a son of the late Lloyd A. and Doris D. (LaChappelle) Staudinger. He attended St. Luke's Grade School, L.B. Clarke Middle School and graduated with the class of 1978 from Washington High School. Steve excelled in three sports while attending Washington high, including football, basketball and track; he still holds the school record in the shot put event. After high school, he continued to play football with the touch football league in Two Rivers and also played softball. He also attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh for one year. On June 9, 1984 he married Mary Malley at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Two Rivers. Steve worked for Eck Industries for 24 years; he also held jobs prior to Eck which include GTE Telephone Co., Burger Boat Co., and Consumers Inc. Steve treasured the time with his two sons; helping coach their various sports teams, attending their sporting events, annually taking a trip to Peninsula State Park in Door County to do some biking and kayaking, to most recently star-gazing with his son, Alec. Steve had a "big heart", always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a huge animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his cat and two dogs; he had numerous collections, enjoyed gardening; and was an avid Packer and NASCAR fan.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Staudinger, Two Rivers; two sons, Brandon Staudinger and Alec Staudinger, Two Rivers; one brother, Gary Staudinger, Sheboygan; one sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Ken Krcma, Poynette. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Karla (Mike) Simono, Cleveland, Wis., Nancy (Ron) Hoffman, Green Bay and Peter (Koko) Malley, Schaumburg, Ill.; along with a number of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Staudinger, his father-in-law and bother-in-law, Al and Jeanne Malley and a brother-in-law, Norb Tomashek.

A memorial visitation will be held at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, from 11 am until 2 pm.

A private family funeral service will be held at a later date.
