Betty A. Pearson, age 83, of 1012 Manila St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday morning, March 15, 2005, at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc.

She was born June 18, 1921, in Ashland, Wis., daughter of the late John and Laura Opperman Turek. On Feb. 14, 1970, she married Leslie Pearson in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death in 1980. Betty was employed at Mirro Aluminum Co. for 32 years and then at Copps Food Store for 12 years. She enjoyed playing bingo, traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include three grand-sons: Paul (Beth) Wallen, Craig Wallen, Todd Wallen, all of Manitowoc; nine great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law: Dorothy Schlorf and Shirley and Richard Scroggins, all of Manitowoc. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was also preceded in death by a son: James Wallen; a granddaughter: Angela Wallen; a sister: Beverly Ziarnik; and two brothers: Edward and John Turek.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2005, at St. Paul Methodist Church, 411 Reed Ave., Manitowoc.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
